Tasting Room Associate

The Tasting Room Associate will work with the Front of House Manager and Team Lead to provide exceptional customer service to guests at White Winter. Tasting Room Associates will be responsible for serving White Winter craft beverages and cocktails at the tasting bar, as well as stocking and upkeep of the tasting room. Requirements include, but are not limited to, the list below.

  • Will have a desire to learn and teach guests about White Winter craft beverages
  • Ability to engage guests with passion and authenticity to articulate the White Winter brand and varied product lines
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits is a plus but not necessary, we will train the right candidate
  • Will have demonstrated customer service skills
  • Able to process basic cash transactions
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and ever changing environment
  • Fun loving, motivated and upbeat; attitude consistent with White Winter values
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely
  • Must be available for work on a regular basis with some weekends and holidays required during peak season, festivals and special events
  •  Must have the ability to work 8-10 hour shifts with very occasional 12 hour shifts for special events and festival weekends

Cellar Assistant Job Qualifications

• Enthusiasm and attitude consistent with White Winter values and the craft beverage industry
• Ability to engage customers with passion and authenticity to articulate the White Winter brand and varied product lines
• Must have the ability to work 8-10 hour shifts with very occasional 12 hour shifts for special events and festival weekends
• The successful applicant will possess self-confidence and have the ability to learn and apply process techniques in a fast moving environment
• Must be a team player and enjoy working with others
• Must be available for work on a regular basis with some weekends and holidays required during peak season, festivals and special events
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Must have strong sense of “clean” and “sanitary” and able to keep premise and equipment spotlessly clean and sanitary
• Prior mead, wine, cider and distillation experience is NOT required but would be extremely helpful. More important is a passion for craft beverages and a willingness to learn and accept feedback to improve skills and performance
• A basic understanding of chemistry and microbiology is a plus. The ability to perform, understand and interpret results of basic procedures like acid titrations, pH, alcohol determination, etc.
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have basic computer skills to manipulate spreadsheets, word processing documents, email, etc.
• Must have the discipline to keep required state and federal records up to date and accurate
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and concisely
• Must be able to work with curmudgeonly, but nice cellar boss who frequently forgets, gets interrupted and called away from tasks you will need to finish, etc.
• Skill sets needed but you don’t have will start you at lower pay but will increase as you develop proficiency in these tasks
